Interim president Rámon Puerta had to take the role for 2 days before the Senate and the House of Deputies chose Adolfo Rodríguez Saá as the new president. His decisions led to more rioting, so even he resigned. After just 8 days! Rámon Puerta didn’t want to be interim president again, so the Speaker of the House of Deputies Eduardo Camaño became an interim president (for 3 days). Finally, the legislative assembly chose Eduardo Duhalde, who stayed as a president until the next elections.

The name is derived from the Latin word „Argentum“ which means silver. The first Spanish conquerors believed that country was full of silver as they found native communities who gave them silver presents. [1]
